VICTOR project
A multifaceted action including a performance and two workshops.
"Victor", an interactive/immersive performance inspired by the book "Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus" by Mary Shelley. The protagonist of the book Victor Frankenstein creates and animates a new creature through chemical materials and old/dismembered body parts that belong to people who are no longer alive.
In the play "Victor", the viewer will have the opportunity to experience but also to execute the story.
The work uses the story of Frankenstein in an attempt to discuss contemporary and topical scientific experimentation but also to present a framework for examining the ethics and ethics of not only the experiment but also the experimenter.
Entering a specially designed environment that alludes to a futuristic scientific laboratory, the viewer takes on the role of a "new Frankenstein". His journey will unfold through a series of three interactive points.
Through his choices, he will unlock a two-minute choreographic performance. Due to the interactive features of the show, the audience will experience a unique choreographic performance which they will "design" through the choices they will make during their journey.
The experiential experience will be enhanced by the atmosphere inspired by the characters of Mary Shelley's book, "Frankenstein Or The Modern Prometheus" and a digital scenography inspired by Laban notation system.
Maria Mitsi as the main curator of the project, in collaboration with the artist Nasia Papavasiliou, unite a group of artists from separate practices, and present a deconstructed and reconstructed theme of the book through experience and interaction. Members of the group are Belinda Papavasiliou as performer/choreographer and Dimitris Savvas in the sound composition.
